HISTORY OF THE GROUP OFICCINA MULTIMÉDIA
AND JAMES JOYCE
Since 1989 the Grupo Oficcina Multimedia is commemorating
the Bloomsday when we starting with the Joyce trilogy.
This partnership began from the awareness of affinity between the harmony
of James Joyce text and the peculiar musical way, which distinguish
our multiform proposal.
The Joyce trilogy which we produced had been composed of 3 scenic-musical
sights where we make use of Joyce texts allied to music/sketch /motion.
These sights have been present in different National and International
Festival and engaged important cultural space in Brazil and abroad as:
Navio-noiva e Gaivotas (1989) at Cecília Meireles
room, Rio de Janeiro and at the VIII Biennial of Contemporary Music and
FLAAC, Festival of Art and Brazilian culture.
Epiphanies (1990) at the MASP, (Modern Art Museum) S.Paulo.
Alicinações (1991) at the FIT, International
Festival of theatre in Barcelona and Venezuela.
Since that time, we have been keeping our fidelity to
this author, inserting him in our stages in different sights as:
Bom dia Mississilifi, 1994, Babachdalghara, 1996, having both participated
of International Festival in Belo Horizonte and Equador, rendering homage
to James Joyce in his international day, the Bloomsday.
