In 2004 the event celebrated 100 years since its origin and the entire world was together rendering honour to the Joyce’s creative mind.

The Bloomsday is a festive date celebrated for all the world, dedicated to the Irish James Joyce which literary work brought motion to modern literature, opening new ways to our century prose and to the forthcoming.

The date (always June 16th) refers to the great day when Joyce had a special meeting with Nora Barnacle his future wife for whom he would have said the famous phrase “You have made me a man”.

This date, June 16th, guided as an “epiphanic” style the romance “Ulysses”, being the protagonist Leopold Bloom from whom the event name “Bloomsday” has been extracted.

Beyond “Ulysses” are constituent of his literary creation the opus “Dubliners”, “Aportrait of the artist as a yong man” e “Finnegans Wake” , work where Joyce abolished all his engagement with the conventional logic. He also changed the word into musical sound, with the purpose to recount symbolically the mankind with its rising and droppings.

The“Oficcina Multimédia” group is along the last 15 years honouring this writer, as the Bloomsday event as in its scenic-theatrical mounting (from 98 to 91Joyce trilogy).

Our purpose is to amplify this cheerful days not only by encouraging people to enjoy Joyce’s reading, but also opening ways to insert into creative expression.
